Remember that case in New York when undercover police officers killed an unarmed man before his wedding by shooting over 40 rounds? Well a State Supreme Court Judge denied the defense lawyer’s motion to dismiss the case. While this is a good step, the trial is still far from being over. Sean Bell, who was 23, was killed on November 25, 2006 because undercover police officers thought he was reaching for a gun. A following investigation revealed the victim and his party were unarmed. Recalling from an interview that I saw at the time of the shooting, though Sean Bell never got a chance to get married, his girlfriend still undertook his last name.

We were away for a while and are stunned to return to write a post about an undercover police officer that ran over and killed a pedestrian. This time the police officer was driving an unmarked silver Chrysler 300. The accident was a violent one, dismembering the victim’s legs. The atrocity happened in the city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was witnessed by many. Bystanders told reporters that no pursuit lights were used and the unmarked cop car was traveling at excessive speeds, though the police refuse to officially comment if the pursuit lights were being used at the time of the accident. Authorities state the officer was responding to a shooting call but witnesses were skeptical to that explanation. The victim was later pronounced dead at Broward General Hospital.
